Tess of the d'Urbervilles

A costume design speculative project, focusing on Thomas Hardy's novel 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles'.

This project involved designing costumes with historically accurate silhouettes and concluded with the creation of one costume on a half scale mannequin.

I chose to give these designs an earthy theme with natural tones, creating my own fungi-print fabric. My aim was to highlight Tess' humble origins and murky past that cannot escape her, however far she runs.
