Saeflod

Collaborating with composer Helen Ottaway, I worked to design and build an outdoor installation for Inside Out Dorset Festival, inspired by Ottaway's musical requiem 'Saeflod'.

The piece was focused around loss and memory and I honoured this by taking inspiration from mourning ribbons seen in Sri Lanka - where Ottaway's research on this piece began.

I used a variety fabric ribbons and decorated rectangles to dress the space, and used wooden boxes to house speakers in the clearing. I focused on repeated words throughout the installation with themes of water and loss.
